Before: The Inspiration
FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT
We used Keiko’s obis as the backdrop for the welcome sign. JK Design created a double hung copper pipe frame to keep the look professional and we loved how the mix of prints turned out
Color Palette
Lots of natural wood, with tangerine plus splashes of burgundy, navy and pink
The Details
Planning a 50th anniversary is such a special gift- it was a true celebration of the community that supported them through the past half decade, with their children and grandchildren present. We included details of their Japanese heritage including their Kanji and Family Crest which were on the shortbread cookies, the koi windsocks hung from the arbor, and Japanese paper inspired prints on the table runners. We played a slideshow loop with pictures of their life and family on the side of the building when the sun went down. The menu was Japanese fusion and we focused on stations like an Asian taco station with chefs grilling the meat in real time, and create your own noodle boxes to keep guests moving and visiting throughout the dinner hour.
